THE WHAT? Beiersdorf has signed an agreement to acquire the premises where its La Prairie brand was born. The German manufacturer of Nivea will purchase the Clinique La Prairie building along with six further edifices on the site.
THE DETAILS Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed but the lakeside property will continue to operate as a medical and health clinic post-acquisition, according to a report published by Spa Business.
THE WHY? Vincent Warnery, Beiersdorf CEO told Spa Business, “I’m thrilled about the acquisition of this historic real estate property in Montreux, Switzerland, reuniting the iconic La Prairie brand with its birthplace. This strategic move strengthens Beiersdorf’s luxury business and fosters a unique partnership between La Prairie and Clinique La Prairie that inspires even closer collaboration opportunities.”
