THE WHAT? Accor and LVMH have entered into a strategic partnership to accelerate the development of Orient Express, the legendary brand renowned for its exclusive travel experiences since 1883.
THE DETAILS Under the agreement, LVMH will make a strategic investment in the Orient Express brand, the company operating future hotels and trains, and the entity owning two sailing ships. Accor, which acquired Orient Express in 2022, plans to develop new ventures including the renaissance of the historic train and the launch of the first Orient Express sailing ship in 2026.
The partnership also includes opening hotels in Rome and Venice, and continuing the selective development of global destinations. The first ship is currently under construction at Chantiers de l’Atlantique in France, with both groups seeking a third partner for the venture.
