THE WHAT? Henkel is moving its Central Asian office to Kazakhstan. The German manufacturer of Schwarzkopf is also set to invest in further facilities in the country, bringing production closer to its central Asian customers.

THE DETAILS According to a report published by The Times of Central Asia, the move was announced at a meeting between Henkel Central Asia and Caucasus regions CEO, Mikhail Yershov and Azamat Panbaev, Chairman of Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Industry and Construction.

THE WHY? With Russian operations shuttered, Henkel needs a new base from which to serve its customers in Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Mongolia, Georgia, Azerbaijan and Armenia. The move is said to be aimed at localizing production and reducing supply chain complexity.
